In partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada and Cenovus Energy, we’re excited to be hosting Big on STEM for youth in our programs on September 27. A day of hands-on activities will be led by SuperNOVA, experts in engaging young people in STEM. Participants will unleash their creativity and explore principles of shock absorption as they design a safety landing net for a water balloon, engineer their own geodesic domes for maximum strength and stability, dive into coding using Codey Rocky, and learn how water can be filtered to be used for the production of biofuel as they design their own water filtration system. During the lunch hour, attendees will have unstructured time to play and create with a selection of SuperNOVA’s hands-on robots!
Cenovus Energy has funded this program, allowing us to bring STEM to our Littles, helping to ignite their ideas for the future and the possibilities STEM can offer.
