Ways to give
Many young people struggle with societal barriers and face adversities such as mental health issues, family violence, identity issues or poor living conditions. Your donation will lead to healthy, thriving youth who can achieve more.
Partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters and build your brand through cause-related marketing campaigns, program sponsorship, team-building event participation or growth development grants.
Bowl For Kids Sake
Bowl For Kids Sake is our signature fundraising campaign, typically involving about 500 community members implementing a “peer-to-peer” method of gathering pledges. The campaign generates financial support from individual donors and corporate sponsors. Bowl For Kids Sake has a comprehensive media campaign, including radio, social media and a highly visited website used by participants to raise pledges
Golf For Kids Sake
2018 EVENT DATE: Tuesday, June 19
Our annual Golf for Kids Sake event is held at River Oaks Golf Club in beautiful Meagher’s Grant, Nova Scotia. Every June, golfers spend a day on the links having fun for a great cause. Proceeds support our youth mentoring programs.
The event is held in memory of retired Board Member and Golf for Kids Sake Chair, Ian MacKnight and Big Brother, Harry Gardiner – two great champions, on and off the golf course.
Run Your Own Event
“Third party” fundraisers are a great way to support a cause you believe in, by providing all of the resources (human and otherwise) to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters. We have a very small team of fundraisers on staff who are responsible for a number of initiatives, so help from others is always welcomed!
A third party fundraiser means it is completely your event/activity. Big Brothers Big Sisters would have no fiduciary responsibility and little or no staff involvement in planning and implementation, however, we will provide support with promotion through our channels to help make it successful. Start brainstorming how you could help – think about the activities you enjoy and go from there. Here are some examples: A “something”-a-thon, raffles, auctions, parties, Video Game Fundraising Models – “something-for-kids-sake”.
